GEROVITAL PLANT: WHEN SCIENCE EMBRACES NATURE

1985 is the year when in Farmec laboratories from Cluj Napoca began the story of one of the most successful Romanian line of cosmetic products: Gerovital Plant.
The cream’s initial color was green, the formula of the products preserving the color of plants extracts from the Transylvanian spontaneous flora that were used to create it.


2004
In 2004 the line was modernized in trend with the natural cosmetics of those times: preservatives free and colorants free.

With a formula designed for normal to combination skin, the line included the Biovegetal Complex which featured natural ingredients to stimulate skin’s capacity to generate new cells.

2008
New discoveries in the cosmetic industry and new trends for products in complete harmony with nature and its wisdom were the concept behind the Gerovital Plant FORTE Line launched in 2008.
Gerovital Plant FORTE was the more complete line addressing all types of skin (dry, normal, oily, sensitive and mature). The line also included body care products.
This line’s products are rich in natural ingredients (over 90%), concentrated plant extracts (FORTE means force, power), essential oils and fats, vitamins, new generation of active ingredients to fight aging and confer skin moisture, nourishment, firm and youthful appearance.

The Gerovital Plant Stop Acne line represents a complete solution for the acne affected complexions.

2010
Launched in 2010, Gerovital Plant Treatment line of products was at the edge between hair beauty cosmetic products and pharmaceutical products.

It targeted the most frequent hair concerns:

  • The modification in time of the hair strand characteristics (ageing, accelerated by hair coloring, styling etc.)
  • Excessive hair oilines
  • Hair falling above normal limits

The products of the line (shampoos, lotions, vials) featured highly effective ingredients like: Hydrolyzed Keratin, oligo-elements, amino acids, natural extracts and essential vitamins (A, E, B5)
In 2015 the line Georovital Plant Treatment hair line got a makeover, turning intog GerovitalTreatment Expert.


2011
2011 was the year of great changes for Gerovital Plant. The new line of products follows the eco trends as it is 100% preservatives free, parabens free, and it was designed using a recipe that combines the Herbatonic Complex rich in Transylvanian plants with the Bio Edelweiss Extract obtained from organic cultures in the Swiss Alps.
The Herbatonic Complex contains sugars, uronic acids, mucilages, flavonoids, triterpenic saponins, mineral salts, having a significant contribution in moisturizing, nourishing and remineralizing the skin.

The laboratory results for the new Gerovital Plant formula have been spectacular: the Edelweiss Extract – extract eco-certified in France combined with the Herbatonic Complex made of plants from the spontaneous flora gave over 20 minerals, 10 vitamins and more than 13 oligo-elements which have created the ideal combination for a regenerated, beautiful skin.

1967年

Prof. Dr. Ana Aslan ジェロビタールH3 化粧品シリーズは、40代の女性が抱える肌の問題に取り組むため、老人病の包括的治療プログラムの一環として開発されました。その基本理念は、これらの成分を肌に届けて機能を高め、年齢肌を若々しく保つ手助けをすることです。
エモリエントモイスチュアライジングデイクリームとナリシングナイトフェイスクリームの二つの製品は1967年、ファルメク・クルジュ＝ナポカ化粧品製造会社にて生産が開始されました。

肌の老化メカニズムに関する長年にわたる研究の結果、2010年にはジェロビタールH3エボリューションラインが登場。

分子生物学分野における研究により、老化には大きく分けて3つの主要プロセスがみられることが明らかになりました：
光老化（紫外線による肌の酸化ストレス）

活性酸素（細胞膜の構造的・機能的変異を引き起こすフリーラディカル、多価不飽和脂肪酸・タンパク質・細胞DNAの変質物）

 All these lines have the signature of Professor Ana Aslan imprinted on the packaging.

1967
Professor Dr Ana Aslan Gerovital H3 cosmetic line was part of a comprehensive geriatric program designed to tackle skin problems that come in womens’ 40s. The basic principle was to supply skin with those components and boost those processes which help mature skin look and feel younger.
The duet Emollient Moisturizing Day Cream and Nourishing Night Face Cream has been launched in1967 by the Farmec Cluj Napoca cosmetic factory.

According to Mrs Mariana Schenker, senior researcher at Farmec, “Gerovital H3 is a breakthrough in anti-wrinkle creams”. “Forty years after the patent, the concept is still original. But we cannot ignore the fact that in these 40 years the understanding of the mature skin has reached new dimensions. New and effective ingredients have been discovered. Therefore, as the custodian of the Gerovital brand, it is our duty not to let Gerovital H3 prisoner of the time it was invented.”


1998
The first adjustment to the Gerovital H3 formula was a consequence of international regulations. The main "anti-aging" ingredient, procaine, was banned internationally in 1996. Under these circumstances, the formula had to be redesigned in Farmec laboratories, introducing the only derivative of procaine (PABA) internationally accepted along with other active ingredients so that performance of the Gerovital H3 line had not been compromised, but enhanced.

Launched in 1998, the Gerovital H3 Eye Cream was another important milestone. The sensitive area around the eyes first shows the signs of aging. And it needs to be addressed with specific anti-wrinkle products.
The eye cream is actually the first anti-wrinkle product used by most women. The Gerovital H3 Anti-Wrinkle Eye Contour Cream had been design around the classical Gerovital H3 concept.
New products have been added to the line as a natural process: daily cleanser, toner, face mask, exfoliating cream, hand cream and hair lotion.


2006
The most notable change for the Gerovital H3 Line was the release, in 2006, of a new face care duet, moving forward the classical one invented by Mrs Aslan. Prof. Aslan left a cream addressing age 40+, when aging problems are already visible. It was so perfect for mature skin (40+) that was „unacceptable” for the 30 years old complexions. But starting 30’s we should begin prevention.

The new, up to date, duet is the Gerovital H3 Lift (Intensive Moisturizing Day Lift Cream and Replenishing Night Lift Cream). It is addressed to both mature skin and delaying signs of aging. A new effective ingredient with a lifting effect has been added to the Gerovital H3 formula.

2010
In 2010 Farmec launched on the market a new anti-aging line from the Prof. Dr.Ana Aslan Gerovital H3 family. A triad of innovative principles, perfected due to the new discoveries in understanding the mechanisms of skin aging, was the core of the Gerovital H3 Evolution line.

Research in the field of molecular biology has clearly shown that there are three key processes that lead to skin aging:
  • Photo – Aging (the oxidative stress on the skin of the UV rays)
  • Radical Reactive Species (free radicals which cause structural and functional mutations of the cellular membranes, the alteration of polyunsaturated fatty acids, of proteins and cellular DNA)
  • The mitochondrial diminished capacity of generating and stocking energy in the ATP molecule

Mechanism of action:
Gerovital H3 Evolution line is especially designed to tackle all three biological mechanisms that lead to the aging of the skin and to stop their long-term effect. Gerovital H3 Evolution uses three active principles:

2014 was the year of the first Gerovital H3 line of products, specifically designed for men.
